Wycliffe Gordon has been commissioned by the Jazz Arts Group to create a 90-minute piece of music for ten musicians to tell the story of the King-Lincoln District. Eight Columbus City Schools in the district were invited to participate by helping Mr. Gordon with his research. Their study of their own neighborhood, its past, present, and future, has resulted in the working title for the piece—Beyond the Blackberry Patch.

Wycliffe Plays for the Giants
Wycliffe took center stage, or should we say the 50 yard line, on Sunday, December 19th with his holiday jazz jam at Giants Stadium. Wycliffe Gordon & Friends performed jazzy renditions of holiday favorites during the half-time show.

Symphony Orchestra Augusta Debut
Wycliffe Gordon recently made his Symphony Orchestra Augusta debut with the Wycliffe Gordon Quartet and Symphony Orchestra Chorus on December 3 & 4 at Pops at the Bell under the baton of Maestro Kuwahara.
